I wake up trapped at the Ministry It's been very nice this last week, not having to go to the Ministry. I have to go back later this week and I really don't want to. Too bad we live in a world where we need money to pay for goods and services, or else I don't think I'd go back to work. I'd find something else to occupy my time. The most exciting thing that has happened to me... I coloured my hair. I like it and it is really quite lovely.

I met Merlin. I met Merlin! And he used my journal! Wow.
I honestly think that being locked up in here is making me a little loopy. I want out!

Being stuck here is just loads of fun. What day are we on now? 5? There is nothing to do, not since the first day. I think once I'm out of here, I'm taking a vacation from this place. I don't think I'll be able to last much longer, mentally, without something to do. Well, I guess its time to wait some more.

I've found myself a job that I absolutely love and I still get to write. I did go with a freelance writing position, but as it is freelance its not too steady of an income. I'm sure even the smallest amount will make due, but I've decided I can do that in free time, which I have loads of right now. My new job involves the Committee of Experimental Charms. I'm the scribe. I take the notes of the experimenters and put charms that they have approved of in a journal. It will still be quite some time before this journal is published for public use. This job is a lot of fun and the people there are fantastic. I'm glad that I am rid of the Daily Prophet. Now, I can have a life.

Christmas was fun. The other day when I went over to my sister's house, it turned out to be complete chaos. Turns out, I was having so much fun to even care. My brother-in-law was not pleased to find the house an utter mess from our food fight. But, it was a good Christmas. Better than what I thought it would be. Of course, it's always better than my birthday. I still miss him though I'm currently looking into a job. It's a freelance position, but I think I could handle it. All I have to do is send in articles and get paid based on them.

After getting much needed sleep the other day, and quite a long time thinking about quitting, I have made my decision. I quit my job. Now, I don't have another job yet, but I am looking. I plan to start a new job, whatever it may be, after the new year. All of my bills are paid off for the month and I have plenty of money to pay off anything next month as well. At the moment, I haven't quite decided what I want to do yet. I might try a muggle paper or another different writing outlet. Tomorrow I'm going over to my sister's house and making biscuits with her and my nieces. Mum's also going to be there. I suppose the men know whats good for them, neither my father nor my brother-in-law will be there. Of course, my father has to finish grading finals. My brother-in-law also has to work. I'm really going to enjoy this time off. I might colour my hair. It'd be a nice change.
Padma, it was nice seeing you for lunch.

I've had it with this job! I'm turning in my letter of resignation after I get some much needed sleep. I can make a living doing something else. What exactly that is, I have no idea

Although its not in the Prophet yet, we are looking into this Morgana incident. We don't have much information yet. Probably won't post anything in the Prophet until we have enough substantial evidence to provide in an article. I'm just glad that I'm not one of the people looking into it. I thought I had a rough week. Derek and Lia are two of the reporters working on it, and they haven't slept in days it seems like.
Michael, if you want some advertising for your gallery, send me all the information you want included in an article.

Nothing terribly exciting happening in the wizarding world. In fact, I haven't been writing these last couple of weeks. I've been editing and working on the layout for the Daily Prophet. We're on a rotational period at the moment, so I won't be back to writing any Ministry pieces for another week or so. That is fine with me. Some of those pieces can be rather dry. I've been thinking of visiting the Committee of Experimental Charms and see if they have anything new that they would like to report in the Daily Prophet. It's been a couple of months since they've reported any new charms that can be used by the masses. Oh damn. I've got a staff meeting a few minutes. Maybe they'll talk about promotions again. It's been a few months since the last speech on that subject.

I took a picture of my nieces today and I thought I would share it. We went to the park earlier this morning and now the two of them are exhausted. ( ... ) The one in the blue shirt is Elaine and she is 4. The one in the white shirt is Caroline and she is 8. They look a lot more like David than my sister. I think Elaine will look more like my sister when she's older.

As anyone can plainly see, I'm now writing in my journal. I've had it for a time, but I've either been busy with work or watching my nieces. Actually, my nieces, ages 8 and 4, are staying with me for the week while my sister and brother-in-law move into their new house. I volunteered to help, because my sister is pregnant again, but she said that she was fine. Anyway, both of my nieces are napping, they are just a little wore out from running around, and I've got a break myself. I thought about napping too, but this is a good time to get some work done around my flat. I don't know if I could handle being a mother So, anything exciting going on that would likely never be seen by the Daily Prophet?
